8 things you need to know before visiting the Colosseum in Rome

How to Organize Your Visit to the Eiffel Tower

Visit the Eiffel Tower using these tips:

Plan Your Trip Well in Advance

The first step to organizing your visit to the Tower is prior planning. Since it is one of the most visited monuments in the world, it is recommended to purchase your Eiffel Tower tickets in advance.

Booking ahead will save you time and help you avoid long lines, especially during high season (spring and summer) or weekends, and allows you to choose a specific time slot.

Additionally, it lets you select the type of visit you really want and avoids having to choose from the remaining options, which may not suit your preferences. There are various ticket options, depending on how you want to experience the tower.

If you choose the walking option, you'll need to climb 674 steps, which will take you to the second level. If you want to reach the third floor, you’ll need to take the elevator, which leads directly to the best panoramic view of the city.

Choose the Best Time to Visit the Eiffel Tower

One of the most important aspects to consider is the timing of your visit. The Eiffel Tower is open every day of the year, except July 14 and during maintenance, but its hours vary by season.

To enjoy a more peaceful experience, we recommend visiting the tower early in the morning or in the late afternoon. This way, you can avoid the crowds that usually gather during peak hours.

Learn About What Each Level Offers

When visiting the Eiffel Tower, you should know that it is divided into three levels, each offering something different.

First Level (57 meters)

The first level allows you to enjoy views of the Champ de Mars and the Seine River, but you’ll also find several interesting activities:

Second Level (115 meters)

The second level offers even more impressive views of Paris, including sights of the Louvre Museum, the Arc de Triomphe, and Notre Dame Cathedral.

Here you’ll find the second of the tower’s restaurants and one of the most famous in Paris, Le Jules Verne, which offers a fine dining experience as it holds a Michelin star. Although a reservation months in advance is required, it’s a luxurious experience in every sense, and if you can afford it, you won’t regret it.

Additionally, both the first and second levels have buffet areas where you can purchase food to eat there or take away. On the second level, there’s also the Bar à Macarons by Chef Pierre Hermé, offering macarons exclusively designed for the Eiffel Tower.

Third Level (276 meters)

The third level is the highest point of the Eiffel Tower accessible to visitors. It is only reachable by elevator and offers a panoramic view encompassing the entire city.

This level also features a replica of Gustave Eiffel’s office, the engineer who designed the tower, and a champagne bar where you can enjoy a glass while admiring the view.
